I was born and (mostly) raised in Long Beach, CA...spent my high school years in Coeur d'Alene, ID...earned a B.S. degree in meteorology at the University of Utah (Salt Lake City, UT)...had a 10 year span as a TV meteorologist (7 of those as chief meteorologist) in El Paso, TX...and then 31 years in the National Weather Service (west Texas, Arizona and New Mexico) before retiring 7/31/2021. I met my beautiful bride "In The Mountains of New Mexico" (selection #12 on the Southwestern Splendor CD), even though we grew up about 30 miles apart in southern California. I didn't start writing songs until I was 21, when a friend in college got tired of me putting my own lyrics to popular songs of that era. "Why don't you just write your own songs?" Hmmmmm.
