The Power of a Song

by John Fausett

Released 2017
Released 2017
Styles include 70s folk rock, adult contemporary, pop rock, blues rock, country rock and country, while subjects vary from relationship issues to nature to "get real."
NOTES
I've recorded several albums, but this is the first one where my son Michael did all the electric guitars and keyboards. That's a good thing. I'm considered a "dreamer", and I try to address this in "Foolish Fantasy" and "Foot Inside The Door." But I also love nature, which is evident in several of the songs. The 70s influence is quite obvious, with shades of Pink Floyd in selection 6 and an upbeat Dan Fogelberg on …

When Your Feelings Show

by John Fausett

Released 2015
Released 2015
This album contains mostly acoustic rock & harmony songs that deal with various feelings we encounter --- some about love and heartbreak, some about nature, the holidays, even getting fired!
NOTES
To me, the quality of music and lyrics really jumped up a notch in the 1970s, and has leveled off some since. Most of my songs reflect this era, particularly the songwriters of that time. I try to express myself a little more in depth on my website at weather drip.com or on my YouTube channel (weatherdrip). On this album, I got help from my brother-in-law Chris Ebiner and my son (who goes by …

Using classic rock, country and blues rock to communicate weather safety, this is basically Weather Music Gallery with 3 new songs.
NOTES
For years, songs from my first album Weather Music Gallery have been available for streaming and downloads. But this release includes most of those songs and includes 3 new ones. Weather is not only a popular subject (you can't get away from it) but it must be respected. Songs on this album discuss various weather phenomena and the actions to take for each. Well, okay...Prairie Wind is just a nice song with a weather theme, …

Never Been This Close

This 5th album of mine is more country flavored than anything else, with a few folk rock/adult contemporary exceptions.
NOTES
These songs were written over a span of 35 years. Some were written from college heartbreaks, others about the experiences described by friends, still others about various subjects, both fact and fiction. Two were written at the request of my employer, the National Weather Service. Can you guess which ones? My daughters helped on a couple --- Melody did the lead vocal on "Poet In The Land", and Marissa (when she was only 14) on "Coeur d'Alene". …

The songs on this CD are country, adult contemporary, and pop rock. Mainly acoustically driven with an emphasis on lyrics. Admittedly, selections 11,12 and 13 are somewhat silly, but for some reason they get a lot of listens.
NOTES
Family values are promoted with these songs, whether it be relationships, Cub Scouts in an earlier era, vacations or the Christian faith. These are songs that you don't have to brace yourself for.

The majority of these songs are folk rock or country, with a few adult contemporary and southern rock selections sprinkled in.
NOTES
A collection of songs inspired by the Desert Southwest of the United States. There is a "border city trilogy" (El Paso, Nogales and Yuma) included as well. The album finishes with a couple of songs dedicated to my wife.

A blend of Classic Rock, Soft Rock, Blues and Country
NOTES
For starters, music has been a part of me since I was a toddler. For years I impersonated artists on the Top 40, mainly during the 60s and 70s. But in 1976 a friend challenged me to write my own songs, and so it began.

Weather phenomena have been used as metaphors in songs for ages. (I did it, too!) But in how many songs is weather the big star? Fewer yet promote weather preparedness and safety. …
